Follow my blog with Bloglovin I’ve always loved paisley! It’s such a  fun, colorful, and groovy print!  And I’m wild about this Black Artisan Paisley print on these new J. Jill Printed Rayon Full-Leg Crops!   Inspiration I just caught a bit of a travel special about Marrakech recently and it gave me some inspiration for this look … the rich colors and patterns, the dangly gold earrings, the straw hat … Has anyone ever been to Morocco? I think I need to go! The Star – J.Jill Rayon Full-Leg Crops J. Jill does it again with a July collection full  of flattering, high quality, and easy-to-wear pieces.  I’m already a big fan of their cropped pants (love these) and this new print is just luscious!  Also, I sized down this time around, from a S to a XS, and they still are plenty comfy. J.Jill tends to run large, so I’d suggest going at least one size down. Oh, and won’t this print transition nicely into fall when the time comes?! Supporting Cast I paired my fab new pants with a plain black tank, Jambu sandals, a vintage bag, and all my pretty new Kendra Scott jewelry from their […]

No doubt you’ve been seeing palm print everywhere. Do they make you happy? They make me feel vacation-y … always a fabulous feeling! Palm Print Wrap Skirt This pretty wrap skirt, another huge trend, is even more spectacular with the lovely green and white palm print. I love the fresh resort feel of this look.  Have you worn a wrap skirt recently?  I noticed in a few photos, I’m showing more leg than I had planned on, especially when I walked.  You can play around with how tight you wrap the top and where the opening goes.  But hey, a little leg in a resort-friendly look is kinda nice too.  Especially when I prepared my legs with some Sally Hanson Airbrushed Leg Makeup! The Location Unfortunately I wasn’t on vacation wearing this look, but I did get to have a quick meet up with Cathy of Bay Area Fashionista for some photos and girl chat at Santana Row, a local hot spot. I also got to go pick up a gift card for winning Santana Row’s photo of the month contest, also thanks to Cathy!  Always nice to have a little extra spending money!       OUTFIT DETIALS AND […]

Remember back when wearing denim with denim was such a no-no?!  Well, being a huge denim fan, this is one old fashion rule that I really enjoy breaking! Denim Shirt J. Jill Tencel Soft Indigo Sleeveless Shirt is one of my latest go-to basics.  I love J.Jill for the classic easy-to-wear styling and the high quality at a reasonable price.  This shirt is such a great length and the extra stitching on the bottom adds a fun touch, along with making the top skim flatteringly over my hips! I’m wearing an XS, so I would suggest sizing down when you order J.Jill. Also Wearing For this day of running errands and tackling a long do-do list, I paired this Tencel shirt with my comfy Old Navy kick flares, Clarks sandals for lots of walking, a colorful tote to carry everything in, and some fun jewelry to add visual interest.   OUTFIT DETAILS & SHOPPING LINKS Shirt – J.Jill Tencel Soft Indigo Sleeveless Shirt (c/o) Jeans – Old Navy Cropped Kick Flare Jeans  Tote – Mirabel Woven Tote Earrings – Kendra Scott Lacy Necklace – Kendra Scott Jayde Pendant Bracelet – Chico’s Girlfriend Bracelet Bracelet – Kendra Scott Elton Cuff   […]

Okay Ladies, here it is … my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale dressing room round up!! When bloggers hit the dressing rooms … look out!! In this shot, Cathy of Bay Area Fashionista has on the Hinge tie sleeve blouse, … so cute and comes in four patterns/colors. I’m wearing the Chelsea 28 Bell Sleeve Poplin top. Both tops are super cute, on trend, and true to size! So this Halogen sweatshirt with the laces on the sleeves was totally cute and comes in more colors too. (Side note: can’t find link. Maybe it’s sold out?  I’ll add in link when it comes back in stock). If you’re between sizes, size down, this is an XS! I’m about a 2/4 on top. Also, loving these KUT Catherine BF jeans! Perfect fall basic, comfortable and true to size (I’m wearing a 6). Well, I think my face says it all. I’m sure this little Chelsea 28 t-shirt with tulle sticking out the side will be adorable on somebody. But not me! Bell Sleeve cozy fleece pullover is cute and comes in lots of fab colors.  But I’m wearing an XS and it’s huge, so size down! This is the J. Crew Regent houndstooth jacket.  I […]

This one comes in two gorgeous prints, both would make fabulous summer to fall transitional pieces.  See how cute this dress is alone?  Or just add a denim jacket for a cool morning!  Also can’t wait to wear this dress over some jeans! • 07/19/17--16:43: H&M T-shirt Update
  • How about updating your casual go-to basic T-shirt with some side laces?  Loving this cute one I picked up at H&M recently. It’s so easy to get into a rut of just throwing on the same basics when you’re having a very casual day.  I love to mix it up a little with pieces with a little extra personality, but still just as wearable and comfortable!   OUTFIT DETAILS & SHOPPING LINKS Tee – H&M Jeans – Chico’s GF Crops (c/o) Sneakers – Roxy (old), love these Bag – Rebecca Minkoff Sunnies – Topshop Earrings – Kendra Scott Bracelet – Kendra Scott Watch & matching bracelet – Daniel Wellington (c/o)     How’s everyone’s week going? Have you shopped the big Nordstrom Anniversary Sale yet?  In case you missed it, here are my picks, and here are some dressing room selfies.  I’m also going back for more dressing room photos. I know not all my readers have easy access to a Nordstrom and want to get an idea how everything looks and fits. If there’s anything special you’d like me to try on, just leave me a note in the comments.  And just a reminder, early access if still going […]

The time has come …. the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to EVERYBODY on Friday 7/21!  To celebrate, I thought I’d share with my readers everything I bought! Starting with this look …. The Most Flattering Jeans Ever So first of all, I’m in love with these amazing Wit & Wisdom jeans.  Super cool with the raw split hems, perfect for showing off cute sandals now and cute boots soon!  These jeans also have a wonderful secret … ready for it?  They have a tummy control panel and booty lifting technology!  I may never take them off! Cold-Shoulder Sweater I always am loving this trendy twist on a classic black turtleneck.  Don’t the cold-shoulder details make it special?  I’d say it’s lightweight enough to wear now on a cool evening.  Also comes in navy, red, and burgundy! The Earrings So a friend of mine (yes you, Lynn!) told me that I could use these earrings as weapons or chopsticks!  LOL.  Well, that makes them very versatile, right?  Loving the modern look and the silver and gold mix. I actually wanted several other things by Argento Vivo from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but limited myself to just these beauties!   Last last […]

So, I went back to Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to get more dressing room selfies.  I know some of my readers don’t have easy access to a Nordstrom and they want to see how the clothes look and fit.  I got a request to see more dresses and career wear, so I did my best and tried on everything I could find.  It was a bit frustrating because so many styles and sizes were sold out already at our local store. This Vince Camuto dress was such nice fabric and a great length, but I could only find a 10 to try on, so it’s too big. Isn’t the hot pink shade pretty though?   This pretty Ce Ce off-the-shoulder floral chiffon dress might have been a winner for me in a size small, but I could only try on a medium. However I loved the pretty print! This little cold shoulder Eliza J. fit and flare dress was one of my favorite.  The fit and flare silhouette is universally flattering, and especially kind to a pear-shape figure like mine.  My only complaint was the length, but that’s my usual complaint anyway. (I prefer to cover my knees if possible.)  I would totally […]

Taking easy dressing to a whole new level, J.Jill does your layering for you with this cute new tank. J.Jill gave me this item to review. All opinions are my own as always. Hot pink with black and white always remind me of Good & Plenty … and anything that makes me think of candy makes me happy!  This little tank by J.Jill has cute embroidery, and a double layer for a layered effect that is flatteringly skims the tummy area.   Outfit Details & Shopping Links Top – (c/o) – J.Jill Embroidered Layered Knit Tank  Pants – Hudson Mia Shoes – (c/o) – Jambu Valentina Bag – (similar) Coach Earrings – Bauble Bar Crispin Drops Watch and (and matching bracelet) (c/o) – Daniel Wellington   Posts of other recent recent J.Jill finds: Full-Leg Crops, Tencel Shirt, Knit Swing Dress!   (Psst …. use code JULY30 for 30% off J.Jill right now!) You all know I love a long skirt and how fresh and pretty is this pinstripe one? Shein gave me this skirt to review. All opinions are my own as always. The Skirt Love the length of this skirt and that it has pockets!  It buttons all the way up the front, so if you wanted to add some sex appeal you could leave some buttons undone!  It also comes with a cute sash for the waist, but with the knotted tee I didn’t think I needed it here. Runs small, size up one!       OUTFIT DETAILS & SHOPPING LINKS   Skirt – (c/o) – Shein Self Tie Button Front Pinstripe Skirt Top – Shein Tie Front Crop Tee Earrings – (c/o)- Kendra Scott Color Bar Sandals – (no longer available) Option Bag – Vintage   A few cute vintage summer bags …     Took these photos in Los Gatos one day last week when I met up with Cathy of Bay Area Fashionista and Laura of Have Need Want for some blogger chit chat. I know, I know … you’d think three bloggers could’ve ended up with a better shot.  We spent our time and effort […]

  • 07/26/17--08:25: Alexander Michael Snyder!
  • It’s always exciting to meet someone you’ve admired and yesterday I got a chance to meet talented fashion designer, Alexander Michael Snyder!  If you’re a Project Runway fan, you’ll remember Alex from last season. Alexander was kind enough to let me try on this dreamy fit and flare coat, lovingly nicknamed “The Beast” for it’s substantial weight! Isn’t it AMAZING?! I became a fan watching Alexander in Season 15 of Project Runway, but he has been part of the fashion world for much longer than that.  He showed a collection at New York Fashion week in 2009, and along with being a talented designer, Snyder understands the business side of fashion as well. Originally from the East Coast, Alex came out to San Francisco to go to school for his Masters of Fine Arts degree and decided to stay. He’s intrigued with integrating technology with his creative visions and of course Silicon Valley is the perfect place to explore that!  Alexander also shares his experience with others, mentoring new designers and teaching classes at The Art Institute. So, how did I get a chance to meet him? Well, I asked!  And Alexander warmly welcomed me into his design and manufacturing […]

So, I’ll be showing off my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale finds for awhile, Dolls!  I think this tie-sleeve Pleione is the must-have sweatshirt for fall 2017! (Gee, I don’t think I’ll ever said “must have sweatshirt” before!).   From the #NSale So, let’s face it, Ladies … our go to casual uniform of a sweatshirt and jeans could use a little update, right? This cozy sweatshirt is the perfect solution, incorporating the ties/knots trend with the cold shoulder trend.  It comes in a variety of pretty shades, but you know I have a special place in my heart for red, so I had to get this fun Red Chili shade! I’m also really loving the architectural mixed metal jewelry of Argento Vivo, especially these stick ball earrings. (And if you’ve been following along, you already know they double as weapons and chopsticks!) Both these items can be had at a sale price right now for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but don’t delay. Prices go up August 7th!   Outfit Details & Shopping Links Sweatshirt – Pleione Cold Shoulder Tie Sleeve Sweatshirt Earrings – Argento Vivo Stick Ball Earrings Jeans – Old Navy Curvy Skinny Jeans Sneakers – Steve Madden  Bag – […]
